小草影院 Hosts Fall International Film Series

小草影院 will host a fall international film series, featuring five films.

The series begins Tuesday, August 29 with the Australian drama, 鈥淭anna.鈥 The series will continue through November.

All screenings will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Olin B Lecture Hall, located near 50th Street & St. Paul Ave. in the Olin Hall of Science. They are free and open to the public.

The following is a schedule of events:

Tuesday, August 29

鈥淭anna鈥 鈥 2016 Australian drama. Set on a remote Pacific island, covered in rain forest and dominated by an active volcano, this heartfelt story, enacted by the Yakel tribe, tells of a sister鈥檚 loyalty, a forbidden love affair and the pact between the old way and the new.

 

Wednesday, September 6

鈥淯nder the Sun鈥 鈥 2015 Russian/North Korean documentary. A propaganda documentary about North Korea that reveals a few hidden facts because the director continues filming between scripted scenes.

 

Thursday, September 21

鈥淥utsourced鈥 鈥 2006 Indie film/drama. After his entire department is outsourced, an American novelty products salesman (Hamilton) heads to India to train his replacement.

 

Tuesday, October 3

鈥淭he Eagle Huntress鈥 鈥 2016 Great Britain/Kazakhstan documentary. Thirteen-year-old Aisholpan trains to become the first female in 12 generations of her Kazakh family to become an eagle huntress.

 

Wednesday, November 1

鈥淎 Man Called Ove鈥 鈥 2015 Swedish drama/comedy. Ove, an ill-tempered, isolated retiree who spends his days enforcing block association rules and visiting his wife鈥檚 grave, has finally given up on life just as an unlikely friendship develops with his boisterous new neighbors.
